Last weekend we had an amazing experience enjoying Music City, Nashville, Tennessee, and staying at the Hilton Nashville Downtown. The hotel is centrally located to all the attractions that make this trip perfect for families. Being a singer-songwriter myself, Music City was right up my alley.
Country Music Hall Of Fame
Our first stop was the Country Music Hall Of Fame. We had the opportunity to be immersed in Country music culture, learn more about it’s roots, and check out cool memorabilia from some of the world’s greatest Country music stars, like Deford Bailey, Johnny Cash, Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, and more! Aven even got to participate in a children’s craft experience making headbands inspired by Country Music Hall of Fame member, Willie Nelson. Afterwards, we enjoyed an amazing lunch at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s 222 Eatery. They even had vegan options for Aven, and I fell in love with their Dulce de Leche Cheesecake after diving into my Salmon BLT.
Centennial Park
After exploring a bit more, we had just enough time to catch Musician’s Corner at Centennial Park. On Saturdays, they host Kidsville, a family friendly and kid-focused event that keeps the little ones excited and engaged. On our visit, it rained, so we didn’t get to experience it in it’s entirety, but we did get the opportunity to enjoy the park and the awesome music!
Old Spaghetti Factory
For dinner, we chose to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. It was a childhood favorite of mine, but closed years ago, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce it to my daughter Aven, on this trip. She loves trains, cars and trucks and had a blast eating her dinner on the trolley inside the restaurant!
Hilton Nashville Downtown
After dinner, we were pooped from travel and our activities, and were so happy to call it a night in our gorgeous executive floor room at the Hilton. The next morning, we enjoyed the included, continental breakfast in the executive lounge (which also has snacks and beverages available all day ) and headed to Nashville’s Frist Art Museum. 
Frist Art Museum
The walk to the Frist Art Museum was only 10 minutes from Hilton Nashville Downtown and there were light refreshments waiting for guests in the lobby which was an unexpected but welcome accommodation. Once we picked up our tickets, we headed upstairs to their kid and family-friendly Martin ArtQuest exhibit, which was an interactive immersion of all things art. There was a printmaking station, a watercolor painting station , a 16 foot Everbright wall with color changing dials, a sketching setup with easels available for multiple families to enjoy at a time, and much more! Aven would have spent her entire day in this room if it was up to her….
Cumberland Spray Park
After viewing the Frida Khalo exhibit and viewing other installments, we made our way to our next adventure, Cumberland Spray Park. On the walk over, we crossed Pedestrian Bridge and took an elevator down to the splash pad to cool off. Aven’s happy place is anywhere near other children and water, so she loved every minute of our time at the splash pad. She even got to practice her backfloat! What I love about this splash pad, is that there is plenty of seating for parents and an area where is the water is a tiny bit deeper and children can scoop it up and play with boats and other water toys.
Hilton Nashville Downtown’s Trattoria Ill Mulino
Following our time at the Cumberland Spray Park, we came back to our hotel to prepare for dinner at Hilton Nashville Downtown’s Trattoria Ill Mulino restaurant. The food here is not to be missed. Every single dish was above and beyond delicious, and I enjoyed the best cucumber margarita known to man.
Aside from their amazing onsite restaurant, another thing I loved about staying on the executive floor at Hilton Nashville Downtown is that the living room was totally separate from the bedroom. I was able to put Aven to bed and not disturb her, while I got work done, and watched a little TV with my sister.
Nashville’s Adventure Science Center
On our last day in Nashville, we visited their Adventure Science Center, which was as much fun for me as it was for Aven! It’s a short drive from Hilton Nashville Downtown, there’s free parking and a world of science and fun to explore! One of our highlights was the gated toddler area, with a train track table, a stationary climb on car, a sound station, and more for smaller kids. This area also features rocking chairs for parents! Another highlight was BodyQuest, an area of the museum dedicated to parts of the human body and its systems. Aven especially enjoyed the Mini Med Center and Ambulance, where she got to play doctor for the day!
Nashville was a blast, pumping with rhythm and filling our spirits with a tune we can’t stop singing. We’re officially hooked and will definitely be back soon.. Book your stay today at Hilton Nashville Downtown, for your own amazing family getaway to Music City, Nashville, Tennessee!
OMG! I would have never guessed that Nashville was such an exciting place to visit! I’ve heard some stories, but seeing the pictures of your experience along with your descriptions really has me wanting to go and take my family. and who would have guessed that the Hilton accommodations would be so nice? That executive lounge looks like it’s right up my alley. Once my family and I look into how much everything cost, we’ll be primed to make a decision about Nashville. Looks like there’s a lot to do in Nashville. I am hoping that next summer we can take a family trip to Nashville and this gives me a lot of great ideas.

What a fun family trip! I remember going to Old Spaghetti Factory when I was little. They had the most amazing pasta. I would totally go again!
We went to Nashville in October and it was a great trip. There is so much to do that we can go back and not repeat anything.
