I remember when I used to travel by myself….I didn’t have a child, and I could make do with whatever accommodations were available. Now that I’m a mom, I have to put a lot of thought and planning into travel plans. I’ve actually been quite nervous to travel with my little one because of all the unknowns. Recently, I booked a Staycation in my city with Stay Alfred. They provide upscale travel apartment rentals in great downtown locations. I figured this would be a good way to get my “mommy-traveling-with-child” feet wet. Heck, I also figured that if we could make it downtown, in Atlanta, we could make it anywhere.
So here goes:
After packing a gazillion items for myself, my daughter Aven, and my sister, we hit the road, managed to beat the downtown traffic, and made it to our Stay Alfred at Lili Midtown. We were greeted by staff and shown to the Key Cafe, which housed the keys to our Stay Alfred travel apartment. Once we arrived at our apartment, we were blown away with how spacious it was, how beautifully it was decorated, and how amazing the views were.
Our beautiful, Stay Alfred travel apartment came equipped with:
- A washer and dryer
- full kitchen (with dishes, utensils, cookware, and cleaning supplies) ,
- dining area,
- living room,
- 2 large bedrooms (with clean, modern bedding, and furniture)
- 2 full bathrooms (with toiletries, and towels and linens)
- 2 walk in closets
- 2 beautiful balconies
- a Nest smart thermostat
- and included Wifi and cable.
Because routines and schedules help my daughter’s world to go round (and mine too), it is so important to have accommodations that feel as close to home as possible. The accommodations offered through Stay Alfred, definitely fit the bill. I brought along my daughter’s travel crib for her to sleep in, and there was plenty of room to set it up and move around freely without disturbing her. I packed her food, and was able to cook in the kitchen as I would at my own home. We continued to meet our daily potty training goals, thanks to the cleanliness and convenience of the bathrooms. My sister was able to enjoy her privacy in her own room. I had space to lounge (away from everyone 🙌🏽) in the living area and catch up on my reading.
I also got a chance to take a dip in the rooftop pool and check out the fitness center!
I certainly feel more confident traveling with my little one, now that I’ve had the Stay Alfred experience. This Staycation was just the vacation I needed, an actual home, away from home. Use code: YOURPLACE for 10% off any Stay Alfred across the nation and thank me later 😉.
